Doubles the effective size of both the tail
and brake lights on BMW K-Bikes except K-1200 RS & LT
When viewed from the rear, the stock K-Bike tail/brake light
assembly is divided into four (4) separate compartments, individual
tail and brake light compartments in the center rectangular
area and two un-used side compartments. The stock tail light
illuminates slightly less than half of the rectangular center
area, while the stock brake light illuminates the balance
of this area. This leaves a lot of un-used tail light area.
The K-TAIL-2 ENHANCEMENT KIT
consist of two, single element lamps with sockets and mounting
brackets that fit into the currently un-used side compartments
and a dual element lamp with socket that replaces the original
brake light lamp and socket.
These two new single element lamps and the
high intensity portion of the dual element lamp are wired
to the brake light circuit. The original brake light compartment
and both of the side compartments are illuminated when braking.
The brake light is effectively doubled in size.
The low intensity portion of this dual element
lamp is wired to be "ON" along with the tail light
lamp. Thus illuminating the center rectangular area of the
tail/brake light assembly as a tail light. This effectively
doubles the size of the tail light. |
